We Have Love – Simona Mancheva
The virtual work “We Have Love” by Simona Mancheva presents a colorful monumental VR sculpture resembling a rainbow. The sculpture is constructed of different forms like hearts, flowers, and human body shapes that intertwine, creating a composition of two gender-undefined people pushed into each other who are about to make love. Imagining it as a portal underneath which we are about to pass is the key segment of the work, giving it participative aspects.
Simona’s art interests are deeply focused on unconditional love, acceptance, and the beauty of immateriality. Mainly through her practice, which is not faithful to any medium, she gave herself a task that the most important aspect of her work, regardless of the method of manufacture, is to be seen as a gift, as an altruistic gesture from the artist to everyone. Therefore, for her, it is essential that we feel compassionate, forgiving, and full of love when we stand in front of the artwork.
No matter the virtual reality, the work “We Have Love” follows the same principles. We are standing in front of a monolithic sculpture of two people in love, and we are about to pass right into the middle, between their bodies, in the very core, where love is gaining a form, filling us with curiosity and excitement.
